Pet Familiar Portraits

Get your own custom-created Beastly Worlds fantastical portrait of your Pet Familiar!

Familiars are companions or spiritual guardians that most often take animal form, especially common in European folklore and fantasy. They’re known for the unique bond they share with their human, which can even involve psychic communication and shared emotions.

Pet Familiar Portraits are available as a digital + print bundle, with which you get a digital file of your pet portrait via email, as well as a signed giclée print made with archival pigment inks on high quality fine art paper. There is also an option to include the original painting.

Simply send some photos of your pet (including any distinctive markings!) and let me know which fantastical item is your Pet Familiar’s speciality. Here are some objects they may be skilled in using -

mystical all-seeing orb / wand of sparks and sorcery / enchanted sword / broom stick (for flight as well as sweeping) / enchanted instrument / ghostling summoning sceptre / potion brew-set / dragon-(or other)-wings / book of magic / glowing pendant of protection / fire breath / will-o'-the-wisp lantern / bow + elemental arrow

Pet Familiar Portrait print plus digital file (£100)
I hand ink these illustrations using dip pen and black ink, before adding colours and textures with watercolour paint. This process results in a more traditional aesthetic, with interesting textures and colour blending. I then scan the original painting, make any final amendments digitally, and fine-tune the print file through a series of tests using archival pigment ink on fine art paper to produce the final printed piece. You will also get a digital file, too!

I use the same method as above, but rather than including an archival pigment print, you receive the original watercolour painting as well as the digital file.

Pet Familiar Portraits usually take up to 1 week to make and you will receive a digital file of the finished piece via email. Your print will be lovingly packaged and sent off in the post. This may take a little longer in busy periods. If you need your portrait for a specific deadline then please let me know!
